Certification, a quality proof

Certifications, especially in the field of food production, are a way to give consumers greater guarantees.

For us, though, is not just this: Agricola Trevi Il Frantoio has always sought certification to confirm the expertise and that we are doing a good job. Also, knowing that our production method is certified by a third party is a certainty for us. Not to mention the fact that the certificate specifications are updated over the years, therefore they represent a constant source for improvement.


Production quality certification: ISO 9001

Our first official certification dates back to 1994 and we were the first mill in the world to get it. Even when hardly anyone knew international standards, or was aware of the importance of their recognition, we got the quality certification UNI EN ISO 9002. In the years, it has been updated to the current UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 (2008), and it represents the world reference for the quality management system (QMS) of companies of all sizes, and of the production sector.

To comply with the general requirements, the organisation has to identify all the processes necessary for the production system, establish sequences and interactions, define the criteria, methods and resources to ensure the operation and control of processes that are then monitored, measured and analysed. It must also implement all course of actions to achieve the planned results and the continuous improvement of processes.


Certified origin: D.O.P. Umbria Colli Assisi – Spoleto

We are extremely proud of our other certification: Certificate of Conformity D.O.P the Umbria Colli Assisi – Spoleto for the label Oil Trevi. Umbria is the only region that has obtained the European Union’s Protected Designation of Origin for all its territory. To distinguish the typical various areas, it has created 5 different sub-areas.

Our Oil Trevi in the olive oil season 1998-99 was the first oil in the region to achieve the D.O.P. Umbria Colli Assisi – Spoleto recognition.
